Draper O. Gordon

DRAPER OGBURN GORDON, 92, of Charlotte entered into the Lord’s presence on January 17, 2015 at the Haven Memory Care in Pineville. She was a daughter of the late John and Ruth Ogburn. Draper was a longtime member of Pineville Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed a lengthy career in retail with both Belk and Dillards. Draper loved gardening and bird watching and her morning cup of coffee and was also the world’s best cook.

Draper was preceded in death by her husband Dick in 2002; son, Terry in 2013 and two sisters, Dot White and Mabel Byars. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Squires, Joyce (Joe) Jones and Margaret (Marshall) Singletary; sisters, Betty Lamb and Tweet Adkins; 8 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; daughter-in-law, Faye Gordon as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Haven for their loving and exceptional care of Draper during her final years.

A visitation will be held at McEwen Pineville Chapel , 10500 Park Rd., Charlotte on Tuesday January 20 from 12:30 – 2:00 pm followed by a 2:00 pm funeral service officiated by Rev. Dewey Wise, assisted by Rev. Michael Bearden. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park.
