Edna Jean Hill Hawley

Mrs. Hawley, age 81, of Charlotte, died Friday, October 9, 2015 at the Hospice House of Union County. Born August 14, 1934 in Johnston County, she was a daughter of the late Orlando Hill and Myrtle Massengill Hill. Mrs. Hawley started with Republic Bank and after several acquisitions, retired from SunTrust with 25 years of dedicated service. She was a member of Plaza Baptist Church.

The service to celebrate the life of Edna Jean Hill Hawley will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 14th at McEwen Funeral Service - Derita Chapel with Reverend David A. Gales, officiating. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include two children, Teresa Plyler and husband, Eddie and Steven Hawley and wife, Gena; a granddaughter, Stephanie Gordon Good and husband, James; and a brother, Walter Hill. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hawley was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harold “Hoover” Ray Hawley on March 2, 2014; and three siblings, Reba Abraham, Earl Hill and Rudolph Hill.
