Edward was a Boy Scout. He enjoyed reading, especially history, as a lifelong hobby. He loved basketball, a faithful fan of the New York Knicks.
He attended Rutgers University in New Jersey and graduated Summa cum laude from Upsala College with a B.A. degree in Business Administration.
He worked at Blue Cross-Blue Shield in N.J. and for other companies.
In recent years, he traveled and lived in Arkansas, Mississippi, and Oklahoma before returning to Charlotte in 2010.
His family will greet friends on Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, from 10a.m.-11a.m., at the McEwen-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, in Charlotte followed by his funeral service at 11a.m. Reverend H.H. Huang of Carmel Baptist Church will officiate.
Edward is survived by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. S.C. Chen. Now, he joins his grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Y.C. Chen and Mr. and Mrs. L.K. Chao of Taiwan.
Now, may he live in peace in Heaven.
