Eleta Pitman Richardson

Mrs. Richardson, of Charlotte, NC, died peacefully at Carolinas Medical Center on Sunday, July 29, 2012.

She was born October 11, 1925 in Kershaw County, SC the daughter of the late Laban and Blanche Holly Pitman.

Mrs. Richardson will be remembered by all who knew her as a very loving mother, grandmother and friend who took great joy in remembering family and friends with cards and telephone calls on their birthday and in times of need.

Her greatest joy was cooking for and being with her family, especially on holidays and birthdays. She had a great love for birds and fed hundreds daily in her yard. She could recognize many by sight and sound.

She was employed at the Federal Reserve Bank and at Carolina Foods Inc. as a computer programmer and until her health failed, was very active in her church, Hickory Grove Presbyterian Church, where she served as circle chairman and scout leader.

The Richardson family will greet friends 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Albemarle Road Presbyterian Church. A service to celebrate the life of Eleta Pitman Richardson will follow at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary with The Reverend Ron Tippens, Senior Minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Charlotte Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Richardson is survived by her husband of sixty-nine years, Charles Joseph Richardson and a son, Ronald C. Richardson both of Charlotte, NC and daughter, Carol Dudley and husband, Dennis Dudley of Belmont, NC; sister, Elizabeth Mayer of Charlotte; two grandsons: Chaz Dudley and wife, Ashleigh of Charlotte, NC and Sean Dudley of Belmont, NC. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, William Pitman and two sisters: Selena Knight of Kershaw Co, SC and Alene Parks of Troutman, NC.
