

Elizabeth “Rachel” Brinkhoff, born on February 12, 1935, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026. She was a lifelong resident of the Charlotte area and a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1953. Rachel continued her education at Queens College.
Rachel dedicated her professional life to various secretarial positions, working faithfully until her retirement in 2000. She was known for her diligence, kindness, and quiet strength.
A woman of deep faith, Rachel was raised in First United Methodist Church, where her father was a charter member. She later became a devoted member of Commonwealth United Methodist Church, where she remained active until her passing. Rachel had a special love for children and spent many years serving in Sunday School, sharing her warmth and guidance with younger generations.
In her later years, Rachel found joy in knitting, lovingly creating scarves and afghans for an abused women’s shelter. She continued this meaningful work until declining eyesight made it no longer possible.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, Henrietta Brinkhoff and Joseph Brinkhoff.
She is survived by her loving cousins: Jo Little and husband Jeff, and sons Alexander, and Brooks, his wife Kelly, and their children Bennett and Harrison, Howard “Butch" Hill and his wife Anita; Megan Pierre and husband Jayy; Josh Hill and wife Malisa, along with their son DJ.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Asbury Health and Rehabilitation Center for the care and comfort they provided in Rachel’s final days.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte.
