Elizabeth Weatherly Tate

Elizabeth Weatherly Tate, 100, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Sharon Towers. She was born October 21, 1911 in West Virginia to the late Thomas Tate and Cordelia Weatherly Tate.

Elizabeth attended St. Genevieve of the Pines in Asheville and Converse College in Spartanburg, SC. She was a member of the DAR.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her cousin, Charles Lacy Tate, Jr.

Elizabeth is survived by Mrs. Loren Durkee of Montpelier, VT, Mary Lacey Tate of Lake Waccamaw, NC, and Mary Elizabeth Reed of Reidsville, NC.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Green Hill Cemetery in Greensboro, NC, with the Reverend Fred Holder of Montreat, NC officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a Hospice of your choice.
