You were my rock. I will cherish all the years we had together. The stories and life lessons of your were always great and sometimes even comical. If I had to go back and spend all those years caring for you and helping you, I do it without hesitation. Tou were the closest thing I had left to a father and I'm eternally grateful for you. I will miss you with all I am. Tou were a huge part of my life and now I sit here kinda lost without you but I know your in a better place. We will be together again one day. Gods speed my PopPop. I love you always, Kim

I am thankful for all the time we were given to spend with Papa Deitz. With all the changes over the years he was always a fixture of strength and resilience who was there ready to offer a kind word or story of encouragement. I will always cherish the time we spent together and heed the life lessons that his wisdom imparted on me and my son. Especially in the last few years when we were able to grow closer as a family.
He loved to have a Bojangles steak biscuit as often as possible and will always remember him whenever I see one.

Remembering you, Uncle Son. Couldn’t say goodbye without sending some memories. Here you are with your real favorite girl, your grandmother Ida McMahan who you called Mamo. Your parents, Gaither and Chlora, you, standing. Then your brother Barney and your sister(my mother) Sarah Ellen. Also had to include one picture of my two handsome uncles as young men, and one of you as a happy carefree little boy. I’m going to think of you all as being together and what a reunion that will be! Thank you for your goodness to me at a time in my life when I needed it most. You had a kind heart. I’ll miss you. And I love you.

It will be little things that we remember—smiles, laughter—and although it is hard right now, the memories of these things will ease the pain.
