

She was born on Sunday, the 9th of August, 1925 in Burkeville, Virginia to the late Henry Jefferson Strange and Hester Williams Lewis Strange.
Geneva attended Averett College for girls in Danville, Virginia and graduated from St. Lukes Hospital School of Nursing in Richmond, Virginia.
She had a special love for children and was called to teach 3-4 years olds for many years at Park Road Baptist Church, St. Mark's Methodist Church and Myers Park Presbyterian Church.
She was a member of Park Road Baptist Church, having joined when the church was first meeting at Park Road Elementary School.
She was a gracious and loving person and had friends of all ages and all walks of life.
Geneva was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Edsel McGuire Owen; daughter, Lynne Owen Baucom and a grandson, Amon (Shane) Lovell Baucom
She is survived by her loving children: Mac Owen (Bobbie Sain); Jeff Owen, Perry Owen (Judy); eight beautiful grandchildren: Jason Baucom (Christy), Lindsay Owen (Alex Reid), Kaleigh Greene (Chris), Graham Owen (Jackie Devita), Katie Owen, Sydney (Joel Zavaleta), Haynes Owen, Ben Owen and ten precious great grandchildren: Brayden Baucom, Aubrey Baucom, Travis Baucom, Riley Greene, Maddie Greene, Marco Zavaleta, Melanie Zavaleta, Haynes Owen, Rocco Owen, and Luca Owen. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews.
She and her entire family are forever grateful for the care and love that Allison (Ali) Capps and LouEllen Meaders provided for Geneva in her last years.
There will be a graveside service in Burkeville, Virginia at the Sunset Hills Cemetery on Saturday, the 13th of September, 2025 at 1:00 PM.
Memorials may be sent to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and to Park Road Baptist Church.
