Genevieve A. Messimer

She was born September 13, 1930 in Jackson County, North Carolina the daughter of the late Perry Roland Akins and Ada Rogers Akins. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, George T. Messimer, six brothers and three sisters.

Genevieve was employed with Union Carbide for 32 years and ADC for 22 years until her retirement in 1993. She was a dedicated member of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and enjoyed boating and skiing.

Surviving are her two sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212.

A Funeral service will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, May 4, 2013 at McEwen Funeral Service with the Reverend Jim Humphries of Christ United Methodist Church officiating. A private graveside service will be held in Sharon Memorial Park.
