George was a native Charlottean, born on July 17, 1946. He was a second-generation tile and stone business owner. He thrived on growing a successful business in the Charlotte and expanding areas.
On June 7, 1970, he married the love of his life, Diane Morton. Together they had two children, son, Chris A. Combis and daughter, Julie Combis Quill (husband, Peter Quill). Over the years, they have been blessed with many wonderful grandchildren. George and Diane have made many wonderful memories over the past 52 years of marriage.
George was known for his great sense of humor and always trying to put a smile on someone's face. His generosity was shown to all whom he encountered. He was a dedicated member of a small men's Bible study for many years and an active member and supporter of Central Church. Most of all, George loved every opportunity to share time with his family and friends.
Services for George will be held at Central Church, 5301 Sardis Road, Charlotte, NC, on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. Visitation with family will be at 2:00 pm and the service will be held at 3:00 pm.
