Gerald Stephan Gray

Mr. Gray, age 81, of Harrisburg, passed away on Friday, December 14, 2012 in the Tucker Hospice House of Kannapolis. Born June 27, 1931 in Hackensack, NJ, he was the son of the late John and Mary Turack Gray. He was raised on a farm and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1948. Mr. Gray served as 1st Class Petty Officer on multiple aircraft carriers. He served honorably during the Korean Conflict and was discharged in 1958. Mr. Gray applied his skills to numerous trades until he retired in 2002. In 2004, he and his wife, Joan, relocated to NC to be closer to their family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 18th at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Patrick J. Winslow, Celebrant. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM Monday at McEwen Funeral Service - Derita Chapel.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 60 years, Joan Ann Gray; a daughter, Debra A. Goodwin and her husband, Mark, of Mocksville; a granddaughter, Jillian M. McManus and her husband, Mark, and their children, Shane and Brody, all of Concord; and a sister, Marie Duzholz of NJ.
