Mr. Poole, age 87, of Charlotte passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011.
He was born September 25, 1923 in Lenoir County, North Carolina the son of the late Humie Glenn Poole and Zuba Barker Poole.
Mr. Poole graduated from La Grange High School in 1941 and furthered his education with a post graduate degree in business in 1942. He served his country in the US Army Air Force during WW II. Mr. Poole later joined General Electric Credit Corporation and retired after 31 years of employment.
Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Pearl Haley Poole; son, Glenn Norwood Poole, Jr. and his wife Nancy; granddaughters, Elizabeth Hinsdale Poole and Haley Anne Poole; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 1900 Emerywood Drive, Charlotte, NC 28210. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
