Born January 27th, 1958 in Washington, DC, he was the son of Donald Wheeling and Ellen Seman. After graduating high school, he attended a local college in Northern Virginia then transferred to Coastal Carolina, where he met Sharon in Surfside Beach, South Carolina. Once in South Carolina, he was recruited by Schering-Plough for pharmaceutical sales. During his time at Schering-Plough, he won many awards for exceeding company quotas. While working at Schering-Plough, Greg was also a volunteer firefighter for Surfside Beach, South Carolina. He shifted gears in his career when moving to Charlotte, North Carolina after being recruited to work for ADP. Due to his high achievements at ADP, he was asked to be a partner to build a new payroll company, Flex-Pay out of Winston-Salem. Greg finished his career back in the pharmaceutical world by owning a toxicology business in Charlotte, NC, making his career life come full circle.
The joy of Greg's life was his family. He adored his wife Sharon whom he married August 23rd,1980. He was a devoted father and grandfather who attended all school and sports activities, cheering fiercely at every event. As an avid tennis player, Greg was ranked 4th in the 4.0 in the Southeast, which was an accomplishment he worked very hard for. One of his favorite ways to relax was on the beach with his better half Sharon, listening to music with the waves in the background. Greg was a member of Weddington Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon Adams Wheeling; two children, Gregory Wheeling Jr. and Haley Black (Lee) of Charlotte; and one grandson, Q, who was the apple of his eye. He was also survived by his mother Ellen Seman of Arlington, VA, and father Donald Wheeling (Abbie) of Greensboro, NC. His sisters Lee Ann Winston (Kevin) of Trinity, NC, Michelle McGrath (Joe) of Arlington, VA, Maria Quinones of Arlington, VA, and Kimberly Lineback (Chuck) of Stokesdale, NC and several nieces and nephews.
