

Hardy was born December 22, 1934 in Lodz, Poland the son of the late Oswald Feige and Irma Olga (Helm) Feige of Hanover, Germany. Traveling to America on March 13, 1957 Hardy began making a place for himself and his soon to be wife. He wed his beloved Helga on January 30, 1959 in Hamm, Germany and quickly returned stateside to begin his new life with Helga by his side. Hardy served his new country in the U.S. National Guard for 5.5 years and became a citizen on July 2, 1962. Mechanics came naturally to Hardy and he quickly progressed in his career. He was instrumental in installing robots on major automotive manufacturing lines and continued to work in the Robotics Engineering field in various positions throughout his career.
As a life-long Lutheran, Hardy was an active member in his local churches and served on many councils throughout his life. Hardy was very involved in church activities and he often carried candy in his pockets to give to the children in worship. Hardy enjoyed attending Our Saviour Lutheran Church in his last months where his son Peter is the Pastor.
Hardy enjoyed photography, had a love for the outdoors, travel, and dancing/toasting at local German clubs. To Hardy traveling was an adventure and he loved to share the adventures with his family and friends whenever he could. His devotion to his wife and church provided a strong family foundation and his love, devotion, and guidance will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Hardy is survived by his two children, Peter Feige (Mary) of Charlotte, and Kevin Feige (Anne) of Munich, Germany; two cherished granddaughters, Kaitlyn Feige and Cara Feige; as well as his sister, Gisela (Feige) Kilper.
His wife, Helga (Klingsporn) Feige and brother, Erich Feige preceded him in death.
A Memorial Service and interment for Hardy will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Mt. Pisgah Lutheran Church, 2606 Chimney Rock Road, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
