Harry was born on January 3, 1934 in Scranton, PA to the late Harry Andrews Sr. and Evelyn Jones. His family moved to Buffalo, NY where Harry graduated from Kenmore West High School. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Buffalo and worked in the transportation/purchasing divisions for several companies in New York State and in Charlotte.
Harry proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany.
He married his true love, Nancy Hein, in September of 1957 and they raised three children, Kelly, Scott and David in Horseheads, NY. He was a dedicated dad who was actively involved with all of their sports and interests, including coaching several of their youth sports teams. He was thrilled to encourage his five grandchildren as they developed their own interests and careers and was proud of them at every step.
Harry was a voracious reader with a boundless sense of curiosity and had a special interest in U.S. and World history. In retirement, he and Nancy enjoyed many years of volunteering at the CMC/Atrium Pineville Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Nancy Hein Andrews; three children, Kelly Andrews (Laurelle Brennan) of Lancaster, SC, Scott Andrews (Andrea) of Charlotte, NC, David Andrews (Kathy) of Eustis, FL; five grandchildren, Christopher Andrews, Taylor Andrews (Juvynezz), Lizzie Anderson (Wes), Michael Andrews (Hanna) and Nicholas Andrews; as well as his sister, Meriel Wildrige of St. Louis, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 11am at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Charlotte. He will be interred with military honors at the New York State Veterans Cemetery-Finger Lakes in July.
