

He was married for 51 years to wife, Sue and they had three children, James, Jr., Chris and Cynthia (Thia) Rocha and son-in-law Tao Rocha and daughter-in-law Shelley. His life was complete with five grandchildren, Jake Kemper, Alex Kemper, John Kemper, Trinity Rocha and Tao Rocha. He was also very close to his brother, Robert Kemper, sisters Barbara Davis and Joan Alley and their families.
Jim served proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era as a 1st. Lieutenant after graduating from Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia. Jim’s career was as an Executive Human Resource Manager In the manufacturing industry, and then as a small business owner with his wife and son as an executive recruiter with W.H. Meanor & Associates.
Jim loved Bible studies and golf with his friends and family. He loved his church, Hickory Grove Baptist Church and served as a deacon and adult Sunday School teacher for many years. He also served as a volunteer at the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, N.C.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to The Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, N.C. or to the Hospice Community Care in Rock Hill, S.C.
