James E. Paumier

Mr. Paumier attended the Canton Schools and Canton McKinley Vocational School. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. In Canton, he worked as Plant Manager for the E.W. Bliss Company and for the Babcock Printing Press. He was also the Plant Manager at Youngstown Foundry and Machine Company in Youngstown, Ohio and for Cyril Bath Company in Monroe, North Carolina. Mr. Paumier then became a Manufacturing Engineering Consultant for Southeastern Enterprise in Charlotte.

He moved to Charlotte in 1980 and married Betty Lee Ducker McGrath. He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Paumier is preceded in death by two brothers, Dick and Tom Paumier. He is survived by his wife, Betty Lee Ducker McGrath Paumier; brother, Bill Paumier of Jenison, MI; two sisters, Zita Paumier and Joan Malloy, both of Canton, OH; five children, Carole Thompson of Fairport Harbor, OH, Greg Paumier of W. Sunbury, PA, Ralph McGrath, Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Lee McGrath of Hickory, NC, and Terri McGrath Stewart of Lake Wylie, SC; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 3016 Providence Road, Charlotte. The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Sharon Memorial Park.
