

Mr. Radford, of Charlotte, born June 12, 1929 in High Point, NC, went to be with the Lord on June 11, 2011. Smiley was raised in Lincolnton, NC where he met his wife, Jonnie. They moved to Charlotte in 1960 when he was hired by Kraft Foods.
Smiley received many awards during his employment with Kraft, including the highest “Jade” and “Gold Star” awards for his accomplishments in sales. He retired from Kraft Foods in 1987 after many rewarding years of service.
Smiley spent his life providing for his family. He was a dedicated husband and father and was predeceased by his wife, Jonnie Chronister Radford.
He is survived by his two daughters, Robin Davenport and husband, David, and Tracey Clawson and husband, Randy; two grandchildren, Michelle Hatley and fiancé, Adam Franklin, and Josh Clawson; as well as a great grandson, Cameron Green.
A service to celebrate Mr. Radford’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 15th from the graveside in Forest Lawn West Cemetery with Pastor Bob Southard officiating. Visitation will precede the service from 9:45 to 10:45 AM at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Southern Piedmont Chapter, 3420 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
