Jane Covington Myerly

She is survived by her children Mark Jones of Charlotte, NC, Andrea Jones of Charlotte, NC and Stephen (Janet) Jones of Oak Island, NC; grandchildren Jane Elizabeth Jones of Charlotte, NC, Taylor Jones of Charlotte, NC, Meghan Styles Civera of Philadelphia, PA, Marley Jones Marlow of Brunswick, GA, Johnie Jones of Charlotte, NC; great grandchildren Campbell Civera of Philadelphia, PA, Tilly Mae Civera of Philadelphia, PA and Evelyn Jones of Charlotte, NC.

Jane Covington Jones Myerly was born on November 17, 1930 in Charlotte, NC to Henry Walter Covington, Sr. and Bessie Jamison Covington of Garden Terrace Lane.

Jane graduated in 1948 from Central High School. Soon afterwards, she married Johnie H. Jones and worked while he attended NC State. Together they had three children, Mark, Andrea and Steve. Her marriage to Mr. Jones lasted thirty years and she strongly supported him and his career.

Jane later married Charles Myerly for fifteen years.

Jane worked as a real estate broker for her own company Personal Realty and other real estate agencies.

Jane was a proud member of Providence United Methodist Church and their Christian Home Sunday School Class, Circle 7 and Christ Care. She was also a member of the Mint Museum of Art and the Charlotte Garden Club. She proudly was an honorary member of Belle Acres Golf & Country Club and a former member of Carmel Country Club. Jane was an avid bridge player. She also loved playing tennis.

One of her passions were corgis. She was the proud parent of three corgi companions, Tortilla, Duke and Eve. Eve survives her.

Jane’s real passion was her dedication to her family. Through good times and bad, her compassion and support for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was unceasing. This support and compassion will never be forgotten.
