

Born August 17, 1926 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, Jay was the son of the late Jay and Erma Loughry Hamilton.
Jay graduated from Punxsutawney High School in 1944. He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. Jay had a long career as a regional manager with Associates Financial Services, was the president of Viking Boat Company in Middlebury, IN, and returned to the finance business prior to retirement.
Jay was a member of Sharon United Methodist Church.
Jay is survived by three children, Jay Dee Hamilton (Brenda) of Lititz, Pennsylvania, Douglas Allen Hamilton (Linda) of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Dena Hamilton Martin (Leland) of Middlebury, Indiana; five beloved grandchildren, Mary Oyer (Sam), Janice Bullock (Josh), Jeffrey Hamilton (Carrie), Leslie Hamilton and Brad Hamilton; and one great-granddaughter, Daniella Bullock. He is also survived by his sister Laura Miller of Fort Myers, Florida and a cousin, John Wachob (Earla) of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Janice Whitaker Hamilton, and a grandson, Ian Hamilton.
A private memorial service will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Covode, Pennsylvania, at a later date.
