Jean Sharpe Rosso

Mrs. Rosso, 71, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on March 16, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital. She was born on January 29, 1940 in Edgecombe County, NC, a daughter of the late William Jasper and Annie Johnson Sharpe.

Jean grew up in a farm community in Eastern NC, and loved going to school with her twin sister Susie. There was never enough to learn and through hard work and persistence, she excelled in school. She worked for a number of years in Greensboro, NC and met her husband Joe there. Having three children, Jennifer, Joseph, and Michael, the family moved to Charlotte, NC. Always interested in her children’s activities; Jean loved volunteering her time for her children’s schools and interests. After raising her children, she worked with Reid, Jones, McRorie and Williams until retiring in 2007. Jean lived life to the fullest through music, dancing, and the arts. She had the biggest heart, was a beautiful person and a wonderful mother. She loved her family more than anything and will truly be missed.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Rosso; sons, Joseph & Michael, and daughter Jennifer Venter and husband, Behan; sister, Delois Hunter and husband, Nelson; and brother, John Sharpe and wife, Janet

The service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 21, 2011 at Harry & Bryant Company, “Chapel in the Oaks”, 500 Providence Rd., Charlotte. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
