Jeannette B. Thomas

Jeanne was an original Child of the Church at Selwyn Avenue Presbyterian Church, where she was a faithful Chancel Choir, Care Team, Prayer Team and Circle member for over 60 years. Her church and faith were her foundation, and she lived that faith every day as she touched all those around her with kindness, warmth, humor and gentleness. She attended Sharon School, graduated from Central High School and attended Queens College. Jeanne spent many years as a part of the Executive Team with the Charlotte Merchants Association and Credit Bureau. Her creative side was often displayed in her love of flowers; she enjoyed the beach, and in later years took great pride in conquering every crossword puzzle she could get her hands on.

"Lala" (as her grandchildren named her), is survived by her husband of 62 years, Herman Edward Thomas; children, Edward (Ed) Stuart Thomas and spouse Mary Ann of Charlotte, Cordelia (De) Thomas Blumberg and spouse Noah of Chevy Chase, MD; grandchildren, Marie Brice Thomas, Edward Stuart Thomas, Jr., Ann Carmen Thomas, Cordelia Jeanne Blumberg and Henry Thomas Blumberg.

The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 16 at Selwyn Avenue Presbyterian Church, 2929 Selwyn Avenue, Charlotte, NC, with visitation immediately to follow at the church in the Fellowship Hall.
