

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jesse "J.B." Taylor on September 12, 2025, at the age of 95 in Charlotte, NC. Born on August 25, 1930 in Burlington, NC, J.B. was a beacon of love and kindness to all who knew him.
In his youth, J.B. answered the call of duty in the United States Army, a commitment that reflected his deep sense of patriotism and dedication to his country. After his military service, he pursued an education, graduating with a B.A. Degree from Elon University, laying the foundation for a successful career as a textile salesman.
It was during his youth that J.B. met the love of his life, Billie Smith Taylor, with whom he would celebrate 69 wonderful years of marriage, filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. The family, which grew to include a son, Richard Barrett Taylor, shared countless memories and experiences that will forever be cherished.
J.B. was not only a devoted husband and father, but also an active member of his community. For 45 years, he was a faithful member of Sharon Baptist Church, where he served in various capacities, including Sunday School teacher, money counter, and usher. His commitment to his church was a testament to his deep faith and desire to give back to those around him.
Outside of his professional and community endeavors, J.B. had a passion for sports. He was an avid fan of football, basketball, and baseball, often found cheering on his favorite teams alongside family and friends.
J.B. leaves behind his beloved wife, Billie, and their son, Richard. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lena Somers Taylor, and father, Jesse Edward Taylor. J.B.'s legacy of love, faith, and community service will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation for J.B. will be held at Sharon Baptist Church, located at 6411 Sharon Rd., Charlotte, NC, 28210 on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 3pm, followed by a memorial service at 4pm with Dr. Robbie Page, Senior Minister, officiating.
