

Jessie Leon Jacobs, formerly from Clinton, NC, a proud son of the Coharie Tribe and a devoted servant to his people, his community, and the state of North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
Jessie dedicated his life to service both in his enduring commitment to the Coharie people and in his tireless advocacy for the well-being and advancement of his broader community. Jessie served honorably in the United States Army. His legacy is one of strength, compassion, and steadfast devotion to the values he held dear: God, family, heritage, and public service.
He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Ida Remell Epps Jacobs; his father, Jessie Maryland Jacobs; his stepfather, Vernell Jacobs; and his cherished brothers, Norman Bailey Jacobs and Delford Ray Jacobs.
Left to honor his memory are his loving children: daughter Jessica Jacobs of the home and son Mickey Jacobs of Eldorado Springs, Missouri and their mother Judy Jacobs. Jessie was a proud grandfather to Angela Jacobs, Jessie Jacobs, Joseph Jacobs, Michael Jacobs, and Merlianne Jacobs, and a joyful great-grandfather to Jeffery Williams, Jasmine Williams, Aaliyah Williams, Jaylian Jacobs, Greg Bowles, and Donovan Bowles. He is also survived by his dear sister Doris Elaine Jacobs; partner Janice Bare and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends who will continue to cherish his memory.
Jessie Leon Jacobs leaves behind a legacy not only in the lives he touched but in the values he upheld. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to guide those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
A gathering of friends and family to honor and remember Jessie will be held Saturday, October 25, 2025, 11:00 am -1:00 pm, at the McEwen Funeral Service Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28201
He was loved greatly and will be missed dearly.
