Joe was our neighbor for many of years. He was a wonderful person and a great neighbor. I was so saddened to hear about his passing as he only lived 2 doors away from us. During Covid he would always bring us boxes of snacks and milks from the school. My kids loved it. Joe will be very missed as he is already. May he rest in eternal peace.

Joe Driscoll was a terrific teacher and human being.  He was not cut out of the mold of a typical teacher.  In fact, he was quite unorthodox in certain ways, but this was part of what drew others to him.  He always had a smile on his face, and he possessed a carefree demeanor.  Not only that, but he also had a quick wit and a great sense of humor, which were captivating and endearing.   His wisecracks were legendary but, more significantly, he would do anything he could and would go out of his way to help others and help encourage and motivate them to succeed.  He was always there to provide a listening ear and provide timely advice.  He had something funny or positive to say every time I would pass by him in the hallway at the school he taught at.   

Joe Driscoll was just a fun person all the way around.  I was honored to call him a friend.  He was someone who made profound differences in the lives of others during the time he lived here on earth.  His life was a life well-lived, and his presence here will surely be missed.

I haven't had any classes with him this year, but I did do chess club with him, and he also complimented me quite often. My ex partner was basically his best friend, and has been suffering, and it shows how much of an impact Mr Driscoll made on us. It is a shame that he passed so soon, I was looking forward to seeing him again.

I have had the pleasure of working with Joe the last three years at Crestdale. This past year, I have moved up to 8th grade social studies to work with Joe.  From Day 1, we clicked. His sense of humor, knowlegde of music, sports, Jeopardy were daily disucssions during the day. Joe had such a big heart and was willing to do anything for anybody. All of Joe's students loved him. Joe brought joy to my life and everyone he touched. I love you Joe!!!!

My dearest sympathies to the Driscoll family. My son had Mr Driscoll for social studies this year.  He was hands down my son’s favorite teacher, which I’ve been hearing a lot of lately. He was a bright light and blessing to those around him. ❤️

This is one of the hardest weeks in my life. To know that I will never see, hear, text or talk to my best friend and brother ever again leaves me heartbroken beyond belief. 

.Everyone knows of his humor and zest for life but his kindness, friendship, loyalty, selflessness and generosity are unmatched. He was finally happy with a dream job of helping teach kids and shaping the future.

I  have spent thousands of hours with Joe at various sporting events and concerts throughout our lives together, always witnessing his generosity to others in one way or another, from tipping, donating, buying out right, or even just being an active listener for those who needed to be heard. 

From Split Rock Elementary to present day Joe has allowed me the honor to be his best friend and Brother in life  and for that I could not have been luckier if I hit the lottery jackpot. 

I could share thousands of great memories and stories but it is still just too hard right now. 

I wish Sophia and the rest of his family nothing but good memories in this difficult time. If anything is ever needed I will always be there the way Joe was there for me.

We extend our deepest sympathy with the loss of our dear, Mr. Driscoll.  He was our son, David's teacher at Crestdale.  Oh, how the students loved seeing him support them at their soccer games and his compassionate personality in the classroom.  He was a great teacher and will be missed.  We will always remember his love for the students and have stories that will live on in memory of Syracuse-Driscoll.

Joe Driscoll touched everyone’s heart and I’m not just saying tht because he passed! I told him tht when he was my boss/manager at Harris teeter! He stayed talking about” THE CUSE” ( Syracuse) and stayed singing. When I was dwn , Joe ALWAYS made  me laugh! After he left ht he told me he was going to teach and he did. I seen him several months b4 he passed he came in ht and gv me a big hug. You will b missed by many Joe. My heart goes out to your family. ❤️

Mr.Driscoll was the best teacher he would always make his class fun, I remember him putting his music on n start dancing in class he looked so happy which made us happy. I hope he is in a better place now . We miss him soo much… I learned that you should always enjoy the time u have with a person you love  n have good memories with them .. I know mr Driscoll wouldn’t want to see us sad but nobody is ready to say goodbye.. I will never forget him , he will always be remembered …. Rip Mr Driscoll we love you 💔🕊.

Mr. Driscoll, Joe, was one of the best teachers I have ever had. He truly inspired me and believed in me for 2 years straight, he shaped much of my middle school experience and was always there for me and every single other student at the school. He cared about each and every one of us and was loved by the entire school for years straight.

I had the pleasure of working with Joe when we were both cafeteria managers.  Joe was always laughing, he had the best sense of humor. Joe was also very kind and genuine and seemed to know everyone. I'm so sorry for your loss and hope all of your memories will eventually lessen your pain. God bless you all.

Simply put Joe was my childhood. We grew up in the same neighborhood and he was an extension of the family. He was full of life and I'll always remember him, his humor, wit and intelligence.

I was sad to hear of Joe's passing. He was such a warm and sweet man as I remember how he would share stories about Sophie and her sports. I had the pleasure of being his Area Supervisor when he was a Cafeteria Manager at Providence Springs-however he always expressed to me how much he wanted to be a teacher and I knew he would be a great teacher because of the love he had for his daughter.
My prayers and thoughts are with his family, students and colleagues at this very sad time.

Mr. Driscoll was my favorite teacher at my elementary school teacher till he came to Crestdale. I was excited to have him as one of my future teachers. All who know him will miss him. He always lit up a room and made all of his students smile.

joe was one without a doubt the greatest teacher i ever had. we got along well and im pretty sure he considered me one of his favorite students. he was a great guy and it’s sad to see him go. but i we’ll never forget him and the impact that he had on my life in that short school year.

all of us students at crestdale middle schools loved him it is sad to say he is gone is does not feel real he was always a happy man i loved seeing him every day as a 8th grader and him always giving off this positive vibe that is something that will stick with me for the rest of my life long live driscoll

Mr. Driscoll will always be my favorite teacher. He made homeroom and social studies so much fun. I would talk about him all the time to my family. I'm going to miss him so much.

Mr. Driscoll was my 8th grade daughter's history teacher this year, and he was a regular highlight in her day. My now-10th-grade son still calls him "the best history teacher ever." Mr. Driscoll really cared about all of our kids. He was the best kind of teacher. He taught them, yes, but he  also liked them! It was evident that he enjoyed being around our crazy middle schoolers. And as a parent, when someone loves your kid, that person gets a special place in your heart. Mr. Driscoll was one of those people for a whole lot of parents. I am so sad that he's gone. But I am so thankful that both of my kids got the chance to know him.

We are going to be praying for his family.  He was the  nicest club teacher I have ever had.

I am the mother of Mr Driscoll's 8th grader. My son always reported his affection and admiration for the teacher. He always told me that he was the teacher he liked most and that it was great to talk to him. We are certainly all very sad about what happened. May God comfort the hearts of the family at this difficult time.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Mister Driscoll's passing. His warmth, wisdom, and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him. While his physical presence may be gone, his spirit and legacy will continue to inspire us. May we find solace in the cherished memories we shared with him and comfort in each other during this difficult time.

Joe was such a sweet kind soul. I enjoyed working with him during summer school!! It was a pleasure to know him. I pray that the Lord will comfort the hearts of his dear family. May we forever cherish his wonderful memory.

I’m sorry to hear of Joes passing. Our prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.   Joe was a fun loving man and had a great sense of humor.  I have many fond memories of him going back to our days in Harris Hill.

Seeing Joe at Paul’s wedding brought back a lot of great memories of being around Joe in Syracuse and at college in Oswego.  He was my pitch partner.  He was one of the funniest guys I knew and also one of the most loyal.  You will be missed my friend but definitely not forgotten

I am still trying to accept this. Joe was an amazing friend and coworker.  I will miss his humor, smile, and happy spirit. The good die young, and here is the proof. Prayers to his beloved Sophia. Your daddy was like no other. Truly the best. I will miss my dear friend.

I haven’t stopped thinking about you since I heard of your passing Joe.  You never forget how much people mean to you.  But as you leave one phase of life and enter another - it does get shelved.
