Josephine was born on March 8, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Josefa and Tomas Morron and grew up in Remolino, Colombia.
Josephine was consistently working and helping her parents with her 13 brothers and sisters. She decided, in her adult years, to leave Colombia. She helped her family by moving and working in the United States. Upon moving to the U.S., Josephine worked two jobs, paid her rent, and sent the rest of her check to her mother to help with the family.
In 1975, Josephine met Allan Goldstein in New York City and their love bloomed. They were married and bought a house in Long Island. Together, they raised three children. Their only son is Joseph, their second child is Susan, and their youngest daughter is Christine.
Josephine enjoyed talking to her family and friends. She loved taking care of her birds, her lovely plants and maintaining her beautiful yard. She cooked amazingly and enjoyed shopping at Macy's in Roosevelt Field. She always put others first, especially her kids. She took them to swimming lessons, book clubs, dance lessons and piano lessons. She was very creative and talented She crocheted and sewed her children's Halloween costumes. Her family was the most important to her.
She is survived by her oldest son, Joseph, her daughter-in-law, Mariciel and grandchildren, Matthew & Andrew; her middle daughter, Susan, her son-in-law, Joe Cavannaugh, her grandchildren, Sara, Emma & Cate; and her youngest daughter, Christine.
A private service to celebrate Josephine's life will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 023 in the chapel of McEwen Funeral Home, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. Josephine will be laid to rest at Salisbury National Cemetery on Thursday, June 8, 2023.
