Josh had the life experiences of ten people. He was a world traveler visiting New Zealand, thirteen countries in Europe, from the Oregon coast to Miami Beach and many blue water beaches on all our coasts. He was an avid outdoorsman. Some of his favorite activities were caving in West Virginia, bouldering at Hebron Rock Colony, canopy tours in Costa Rica and bungee jumping in New Zealand. He was also an avid Checkers and Panthers fan.
Through many years of medical adversities, Josh’s courage and determination was at its peak as he fought to regain his life.
Josh attended Charlotte area schools and had perfect attendance for twelve years, graduating from Providence High School in 1997. He achieved a B.S. in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Appalachian State University in 2002 where he was on the Dean’s List.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Dolan; his father, Patrick Payne; his step mother, Jayne Payne; his grandparents, Doris Goggi and George N. Payne, Jr.; sisters, Alexis Riddle and Anna Grace Payne; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph Patrick Dolan and Zana H. Payne.
Thank you to all the medical personnel who helped Josh along his journey.
