Judith Long Horne

January 15, 1943 - February 2, 2025

Judy was born to James Willard Long and Margie Rosich Long on January 15, 1943. She was a lifelong resident of Mecklenburg County and a graduate of East Mecklenburg High. She was employed by Bank of Matthews, AT&T company , & was a bookkeeper for Horne Heating and Air Conditioning before she retired.

Judy was most happy at the beach, enjoying her flower garden, crocheting, or anywhere she could be out in the sun with a Diet Coke in hand. She was also a huge pet lover that took loving care of her own pets or any strays that would come by.

She was most proud of being a grandmother (Grammy) to her 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents Willard & Margie Long, and her 3 brothers, Terry David Long, James W Long Jr. (Jake), and Arnold L Long (Bud).

She is survived by her loving family , sister Darlene Long of Mint Hill , son Jon Horne and his wife Katie of Charlotte, grandchildren and great grandchildren Jon Austin Horne & his daughter Ava , Colby Dowless Horne & his son Mateo , Wriston Keith Horne , and Kinzlee James Horne.

Special thanks to Dr. Maegan Riggin and staff at Novant Huntersville, and to Cassidy and the Levine & Dickson Hospice House staff for the amazing care and compassion during this hard time.

Judy will be greatly missed by all.
