Katherine Benfield McDowell, 96, of Stanley, NC, from Paw Creek, passed away on May 8, 2017. Visitation will be held at Forest Lawn West, Charlotte, NC on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 12:00 pm with a Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 pm in the Paul Helton Chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral Home.
Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, James McDowell; son, Ronald McDowell; daughters, Margie Ward and Mary Seigler. She is survived by her sister, Peggy Buchanan of Spruce Pine, NC; daughter, Phyllis Jean McDowell; son, Billy McDowell; grandchildren, Chris, James & Tammy Seigler, Robin, Susie, Sherman, Clift & Jimmy McDowell, Pettie & Ronnie Ward; 5 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
