Kathryn Sellers Reeder

Charlotte - Kathryn went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 20 at Charlotte Square. Kathryn was born to Orson and Carolina Ritzman in Reading, PA on Feb. 15, 1918. She is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, John Sellers and Lonnie Reeder; and her youngest son, Bob Sellers.

Kathryn, at age 20 moved to Charlotte, where she met her husband John. She was a charter member of Calvary Church. Kathryn served as a children’s Sunday School teacher for 30 years, and after John’s passing, as program leader and secretary to the “Singles Again”. After retiring as an executive secretary for J.N. Pease Associates, she worked as the Secretary to the Senior Adult Pastor of Calvary Church. Kathryn was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, always putting others needs before her own. She was loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Reeder is survived by two sons and a daughter, Joe Sellers(Carolyn) of Mt. Holly, NC, John Sellers (Pat) of Columbia, SC, and Kristina Lomac (Billy) of Charlotte; her daughter-in-law, Nancy Sellers of Indian Trail; and her four grandchildren, Philip (Jody), Stephen and Carrie Lomac of Charlotte, and Ashley(Jeremiah) Grant of Monroe. She is also survived by her four great-grandchildren, Emily Grant of Monroe and Sophia, Kiran and Wiley Lomac of Charlotte.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Kathryn Reeder will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 24 at Calvary Church on Pineville-Matthews Rd. at 2:00 p.m., with visitation from 1-1:45 p.m. A private family graveside service will be held earlier in the day.
