She is survived by one son; Frank Hammond; a daughter Missy Hammond and a sister Janet Danner all of Charlotte. Kay is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years John F. Hammond and two brothers Mack and Gary Helms.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am – 12:00pm Thursday, January 30, 2014 at McEwen Funeral Service – Charlotte Chapel, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. A graveside service will be held at 12:00pm following the visitation in Sharon Memorial Park’s Garden of Honor.
