Kenneth Newby

Kenneth was a native of Detroit, MI, and graduated June 1977 from Edwin Denby High School. He was an avid lover of music, trumpet player in the school band, and member of the football team.

He was employed with City of Detroit Transportation Department, Chrysler Motor Corporation, Ford Motor Company in Michigan, and Duke University Transportation, of Durham, North Carolina.

Kenneth moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2007 to join his children. He was a motivator, an encourager, and a very warm-loving person. His smile, humor and laughter were his trademarks. Kenneth was active until illness disabled him. He entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 25, in Carolina Medical Center in Pineville, North Carolina.

Living to cherish his memory, are his children: Janeia LaShawn, RaShelle Janae, Kenneth TraVon Newby, and D' Juan Powell; Grandchildren: Jarien and JaKayla Newby; Siblings: Kim and Keith Newby: Niece: Shequila Newby, Nephew: William McCullough, five great niece's and a host of family, extended family, friends and the “Burns Avenue Crew” all who were very special to him. We are sure he wanted you to know he loved you all.
