Kenneth David Owens

Born August 25, 1947, he was the son of the late Kenneth Lee Owens and Dorothy Richardson Owens. He graduated from Oak Ridge Military Academy and furthered his education at the University of South Carolina. After attending South Carolina, Mr. Owens served in the US Army and received a Purple Heart while in Vietnam.

Following his military service, Mr. Owens worked in Charlotte for his father at Monarch Sprinkler Company before he and his family moved to Hilton Head Island for 32 years where he owned David Owens Painting Company and moved back to Charlotte in 2012.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Mask Owens; daughter, Ashlyn Marie Owens of Atlanta, GA; and sisters, Cynthia Owens Locker of Saint Petersburg, FL and Leslie Ann Owens of Charlotte.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kinsley Dara Owens, in 1979.

A graveside service with military honors will be held 2:00 p.m. July 8, 2014 at Sharon Memorial Park.
