Kenneth Lee White

Mr. White was educated in the local schools in Pocahontas County, WV and furthered his education at Concord University. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957 – 1959 at Fort Jackson, Governors Island in New York City and The United States Military Academy.

In 1956 Mr. White began his career with Kroger as an accountant in Roanoke, VA. His employment with Kroger took him to Cincinnati, Little Rock, Charleston, WV and Cleveland, OH. In 1971 he moved to Charlotte and retired, following a 35-year career with Harris Teeter and the Ruddick Corporation. In 1971 he also joined Christ Lutheran Church and was an active and dedicated member.

Mr. White is survived by Jean Baker White, his wife of 57 years; his son, Greg White and his wife Jennifer; and his daughter, Susan Minges and her husband, Richard. A son, Mark, preceded him in death.

His family also includes his grandchildren: Catherine White, Baker White, Harrison White, Philip Minges, Sarah Minges and Henry Minges.

A service to celebrate Mr. White’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 28th at Christ Lutheran Church. His family will receive friends at the church following the service.
