

Larry Christopher, a devoted husband, father, stepfather, and military veteran, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025, at the age of 70. Born in Asheville, North Carolina, on December 10, 1954, Larry grew up surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains, which sparked a lifelong love for the outdoors.
A passionate fisherman and nature enthusiast, Larry found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life—whether casting a line by the water or sharing stories around a crackling campfire. His adventurous spirit and deep appreciation for nature were hallmarks of the life he lived so fully.
Larry proudly served his country for 23 years, exemplifying the values of honor, dedication, and sacrifice. As a member of the military, he touched the lives of countless fellow service members, earning their respect and leaving behind a legacy of unwavering service to his nation.
Larry was a hardworking man who loved to help people. He approached life with kindness, always ready to lend a hand to those in need. His selflessness and compassion left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Lan Ha; his children, Brendan Christopher and Allyson Huff; his stepchildren, Cham Nguyen, Hoang Nguyen, and Quang Nguyen; and three beloved grandchildren.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will forever remain alive in the hearts of those he touched. Whether it’s the tales of his adventures or the peaceful reflections by a serene riverbank, Larry’s spirit will always be found in the places he loved most.
A funeral service for Larry will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11:00 am at McEwen Funeral Service Inc., 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. Visitation will begin at 9 am.
