Larry became a volunteer with the PGA golf events at Piper Glenn and Quail Hollow we could depend on him for many of the activties. We had many great experiences doing this volunteer work. Sorry we never met his family.. but our we extend our sympathy at your loss. Gloria Barnette, Tom Budge

Stacy and family,
Larry was a great guy.  I always enjoyed playing tennis with him whether we won or lost.  We lost most of the time!
Larry really loved going to Kingston Plantation, I am happy I could give him that.

My path crossed Larry's when my son Eric ran track and cross country with Chris at East Mecklenburg High in the 1980's. I enjoyed knowing Larry and was aware of and admired his love and devotion for his children. Larry was a delightful and fun person - being around him at the meets was a pleasure. Larry has been a friend of mine since 1991 and he was a wonderful person who loved his family and friends with all his heart. I will miss Larry but I take comfort in knowing that he is no longer physically suffering. Larry had a zest for life and conducted himself with the utmost integrity and was a man of his word. Even though Larry lost one of his sons and his wife too early in life and it was very difficult for Larry to deal with, it could have made him a bitter person, but he never gave up and he always maintained a positive attitude. My family and I are saddened at the passing of your Dad.  He was a fine individual and made a loving lasting impression on all of us. After visiting with your Dad, I found him to be looking forward to going on and being with his son Chris and your mother. I received a message the last time I visited and there is no doubt Chris, your Mom and Dad are celebrating at this moment.  My last words to Larry were "Larry if you get to heaven before I do, make a room for me and be our Guardian Angel"  He SMILED and said OK.
