On December 18, 2023, Linda Cureton King embarked on her journey to the heavenly abode after bravely facing an extended illness. She found peace surrounded by her loving family at Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster on the same day. Linda was the beloved wife of the late Charles Edward King. Born to James and Sophie Cureton in York County, South Carolina, Linda received her education in the same community.
She dedicated over two decades of her professional life as a Tax Accountant at Coats North America. A devoted member of Rock Grove AME Zion Church, Linda found strength and solace in her faith. She derived immense joy from hosting holidays and family vacations, creating cherished moments with her children and grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 42 years, a grandson, (Charles “CJ” King), and her brother, (Willie Hampton Cureton), Linda is survived by her children: daughter, Portia K. Fauntleroy (Martin) of Marvin, North Carolina; son, Charles V. King (Adrena) of New London, North Carolina; and daughter, Samantha L. King of Clarksburg, Maryland. Linda leaves behind a legacy through her adoring grandchildren: Amanda L. Gadsden, Kevin M. Gadsden, Meghan E. Gadsden (Marvin, North Carolina), Gabrielle S. King (Concord, North Carolina), Nevaeh Thompson (New London, North Carolina), Caleb F. McCallister (Marvin, North Carolina), Kristian J. King (Clarksburg, Maryland), Sebastian M. King, and Emerson M. King (New London, North Carolina). She is also survived by her loving and devoted sister, Deborah Cureton (Charlotte, North Carolina), and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The King family extends their deep gratitude to Linda's caregiver, Sasha Covington, Dr. David Smalls, Dr. Tooba Khan, the compassionate staff of Pineville Living and Rehabilitation, and Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Southminster for their exceptional care, kindness, and unwavering support during her illness.
