Born February 26th, 1927, in Gaston County, NC she, like so many others of her generation, at the age of sixteen, left the hard scrabble life of a southern mill village to pursue a better life in a larger city. She chose Charlotte, NC where she met Frank J Mini, the father of her children.
She was a waitress for more than 60 years at some of Charlotte’s most exclusive restaurants. She will be remembered for her famous meatballs and fried potatoes so well loved by her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Frank Mini, son Thomas (Tommy) Mini, grandson Frankie Mini, Mother Ella Gibson, sisters Opal Hendley and Winona Damuth, and brother James Gibson.
She leaves a legacy for her daughter Susan McGee (Jerry), daughter in law Shirley Mini, brother Coy Gibson (Kathy) grandson Paul J McGee (Sonya), granddaughter Angela McGee, grandson Aaron Mini (Sarah) 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
In remembrance, a graveside gathering will take place Tuesday September 3rd at Forest Lawn West at 1:00 pm where we will honor and rejoice the life of Lois, Mom, and #2.
