She was born in Charlotte on September 18, 1928, daughter of the late Thomas A Funderburk and Mary Ellen Price Funderburk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her adoring husband Charlie F Walters in 2013, her son Larry Walters in 2003, her grandson Chris Walters in 2014, and by 19 brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Walters was a faithful member of Christ Covenant Church and a caring and generous soul to every person she ever met. Her memorial service, conducted by Rev. Bruce Creswell, will be held at Christ Covenant Church in Matthews at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 25, 2022 with a reception to follow.
Interment will be private at another time.
Mrs. Walters is survived by her son Frank Walters and wife Cindy of Indian Trail, NC, daughter, Linda E. Golla and husband Jim of Taylors, SC, six grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
