

Louis J. Coleman CHARLOTTE - Louis J. Coleman, 90, loving husband of Gloria, died February 10, 2016, in Beachwood, Ohio. He and Gloria belonged to Temple Beth El for about 40 years. A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Lou spent his formative years in Chicago and Champagne-Urbana, IL before moving his young family to Charlotte in 1953. He was a member of the Army Air Corps during World War II, serving stateside, and earned a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by Deborah (Dan Polster), Shelley (Jay Zandman), Daniel (Helen) and Zach (Isis Chan) and grandchildren, Josh (Emilie), Shira (Brian Viel), and Ilana Polster, David and Eli Zandman, and Dana and Gadi Coleman. He was predeceased by his parents and older siblings Simon, Joseph, Dina, Rachel, Reuben, and George.
The funeral will be held at Temple Beth El at Shalom Park on Sunday, February 14, 2016, at 11 a.m., followed by burial at the Hebrew Cemetery of Charlotte. Also on Sunday, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., the family welcomes friends to join them for a reception and shiva service at the Jewish Community Center at Shalom Park, in the Weinberg Center.
