She was born in Atlanta, GA, daughter of Pleman and Frances Johnston. She grew up in Raleigh, NC and has resided in Charlotte, NC since 1957.
Lucile was preceded in death by her husband, Edward S. Winstead, daughter, Janice W. Blevins, three brothers and two sisters, and one son-in-law Harold W. Twisdale.
She is survived by her children, Jean W. Twisdale, Sherry W. Brafford and husband, Dwight, Nancy W. Harris and husband, Stan; grandchildren, Alexandra Harris, Carter Harris, Beverly Christina Paulson; great grandchildren, Sabrina Llorens and Sean Llorens, and Hank Harris.
The family has requested memorials be sent to Memorial United Methodist Church, 4012 Central Ave., Charlotte, NC 28205 and/or Via Hospice of Charlotte.
A graveside service for Lucile will be held Friday, August 1, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Evergreen Cemetery, 4426 Central Ave, Charlotte, NC 28205 with a visitation to follow.
