

Lucille Ruth Schletz Taylor, age 86, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Levine & Dickson Hospice in Huntersville. A native of St. Paul, MN, Mrs. Taylor was born on June 12, 1927 to the late Harvey Robert Schletz and Mary Haugen Schletz. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband of forty three years, Lytton Taylor, III and a sister, Carol Schletz. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and A Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by two daughters, Marylou Millhauser and husband Alan, of Charlotte, Diane Sonnenstein and husband Sonny, of Portland, OR; a granddaughter, Taylor Fender Millhauser, of Charlotte and a goddaughter, Mary Cass and husband Dan, of Medina, MN.
Mrs. Taylor had a long and successful career being one of the first female chemistry graduates from the University of Minnesota, a wartime supervisor at 3M and ultimately fulfilled her true passion as a math and science teacher. She served for many years as a Girl Scout Leader, active member of WELCA and was involved in several womens financial clubs. She enjoyed sewing and playing bridge in her spare time.
A funeral to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00AM, Thursday, March 13th, at McEwen Funeral Home at Sharon Memorial Park with Rev. John Petry officiating. A private burial will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM to 11:00AM prior to the funeral hour.
