Manuel Chaves

Manuel Chaves, amado esposo, dedicado padre, orgulloso abuelo, talentoso artesano y hombre fiel a Dios, falleció el 24 de agosto de 2026. Nació el 18 de mayo de 1963, en Zipaquirá, Cundinamarca, Colombia, hijo de Víctor Chaves y Bernarda Silva.

Manuel asistió a la escuela secundaria Simón Bolívar y llevó consigo durante toda su vida una sólida ética de trabajo, un corazón generoso y una fe inquebrantable. Construyó una exitosa trayectoria profesional con sus manos y su mente, trabajando en control de calidad y artesanía. Su recorrido profesional incluyó desempeñarse como Supervisor de Control de Calidad en MiraTex, Grasco y SilvaTrim, seguido de varios años trabajando de manera independiente. En 2003, comenzó su labor como Maestro Carpintero en Level 5, función en la que continuó sirviendo y creando durante más de dos décadas.

Aunque Manuel fue un carpintero hábil y un profesional destacado, su familia y sus seres queridos lo recordarán sobre todo por su servicio a Dios y por su ministerio como pastor en la Iglesia Ebenezer, donde sirvió desde 2003 hasta 2016. Su fe no era simplemente algo que profesaba; era algo que vivía. Buscaba amar a los demás, servir a los demás y acercar a las personas a Dios.

Manuel fue un miembro dedicado de Elevation Church, donde su fe continuó siendo una parte importante de su vida.

A Manuel le encantaba pasar tiempo con su familia, reunir a todos para compartir comidas al aire libre, tocar el saxofón, nadar y disfrutar del mar, y trabajar en mecánica. Ya fuera construyendo algo con sus manos, haciendo música, preparando comida para las personas que amaba o simplemente compartiendo tiempo con su familia, Manuel tenía una manera especial de convertir los momentos cotidianos en momentos significativos.

Manuel Chaves será recordado como un hombre amoroso, un hombre de Dios y un héroe para su familia.

Por encima de todo, Manuel fue un hombre dedicado a su familia. Atesoraba el tiempo con sus seres queridos y encontraba alegría en esos momentos sencillos que reunían a todos. Le sobreviven su esposa, Julia Castro; su amada madre, Bernarda Silva; sus hijos, Daniel Chaves y Jeisson Chaves; su nuera, Andrea Chaves, esposa de Daniel; y su amado nieto, Liam Chaves.

Manuel Chaves, a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, gifted craftsman, and faithful man of God, passed away on August 24, 2026. He was born on May 18, 1963, in Zipaquirá, Cundinamarca, Colombia, to Víctor Chaves and Bernarda Silva.

Manuel attended Simon Bolivar High School and carried with him throughout his life a strong work ethic, a generous heart, and an unwavering faith. He built a successful career with his hands and his mind, working in quality control and craftsmanship. His professional journey included serving as a Quality Control Supervisor at MiraTex, Grasco, and SilvaTrim, followed by several years as a freelancer. In 2003, he began his work as a Master Carpenter at Level 5, a role in which he continued to serve and create for more than two decades.

Although Manuel was a skilled carpenter and accomplished professional, his family and loved ones will remember him most for his service to God and his ministry as a pastor at Iglesia Ebenezer from 2003 to 2016. His faith was not simply something he professed—it was something he lived. He sought to love others, serve others, and point people toward God.

Manuel was a devoted member of Elevation Church, where his faith continued to be an important part of his life.

Manuel loved spending time with his family, gathering everyone together for cookouts, playing the saxophone, swimming and enjoying the ocean, and working on mechanics. Whether he was building something with his hands, making music, preparing food for the people he loved, or simply spending time with his family, Manuel had a way of making ordinary moments meaningful.

Manuel Chaves will be remembered as a loving man, a godly man, and a hero to his family.

Above all, Manuel was a family man. He cherished time with his loved ones and found joy in the simple moments that brought everyone together. He is survived by his wife, Julia Castro; his beloved mother, Bernarda Silva; his sons, Daniel Chaves and Jeisson Chaves; his daughter-in-law, Andrea Chaves, Daniel's wife; and his beloved grandson, Liam Chaves.
