

Margaret was born July 13, 1932, in Sharon, Pennsylvania to the late Harmon Roberts and Carrie Evelyn Roberts. She was preceded in death by her husband Morris E. Brenneis.
She is survived by her two daughters: Ellen McKane (husband Kevin) of Charlotte, NC and Carrie Parkey ( husband Barney) of Matthews, NC. and three grandsons: Will McKane (Arlington, VA), Kent McKane (wife Carly) Raleigh, NC, Benjamin Parkey (Matthews, NC); sister-in-law, Carol Pare and husband Joe Pare of Avon,OH; brother-in-law, Norman Brenneis ( Melbourne, FL); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Peggy graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Finance. She worked at Dupont Chemical, Wilmington DE, prior to pursuing a teaching job in Ohio, where she met her late husband Morris (Moe) Brenneis.
The couple moved to Charlotte, NC in 1970. Peggy was a stay-at-home mom until the girls finished middle school. She then taught business education classes at West Charlotte and South Mecklenburg High Schools. She was awarded her Masters in Education from Winthrop University at age fifty. Peggy was inducted into Alpha Delta Kappa, the International Honorary Organization for Women Educators.
Mrs. Brenneis received numerous awards for her artwork while on display at Freedom Park’s Art in the Park festival. In retirement, she became a docent at the Mint Museum.
Peggy’s global travels were fearless and extensive. She visited all of Europe, Thailand, Egypt, and Africa. Her most memorable trips were with family to the old High Hampton Inn, Cashiers and Hilton Head Island.
Peggy Brenneis was a long - term member of Sharon Presbyterian Church where she sang in the Choir and volunteered for the homeless.
A service to celebrate Peggy’s life will be held at two o’clock pm, Saturday, June 28, 2025 in the sanctuary of Sharon Presbyterian Church, 5201 Sharon Road, Charlotte, NC, 28210.
The family will receive friends following the service.
