

Just as the shadows had cut their way deepest in the sunlight and the gray of eve was climbing into the view of the eastern hills, Margaret Anne Thomas Denny departed this life with her beloved family at her bedside.
Mrs. Denny, a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker died Sunday, November 17th. She was in her 77th year and was born February 26, 1936 in Roanoke, Virginia. She was of distinguished Virginia and North Carolina families and was the only child of the late John Ralph Thomas & Myrtle Lee Rohr. Her paternal grandparents were William Berkeley Thomas, prominent North Carolina land owner and Tobacco farmer and Ada Catherine Kelly of Lee County. Her maternal grandparents were William Arrington Rohr and Hattie Bell Sasher of Christiansburg, VA.
She was married 58 years to Mr. Garland Bram Denny on March 5th, 1955, who survives her. Mr. Denny is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of veteranspetition.com.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 PM November 21st at McEwen Funeral Home, Monroe Road. The entombment with be private.
Surviving are her daughter, Sue Tucker and husband, Ken of Waxhaw; sons, Jim Denny of Charlotte and Chuck Denny and wife, Vanessa of Indian Trail. Grandchildren, Cassie Tucker Achenbach and husband Tommy, Kendall Tucker and Carson Denny all of Indian Trail. Great-granddaughters, Misses Maggie, Lilly and Emma Achenbach of Indian Trail. Special care giver, Sarah Rivers. Mrs. Denny was predeceased by her son Scott Denny in 1997.
