Beloved wife, mother and friend, she was born in England and moved to Charlotte with her family in 1995. Margaret founded and ran House of Andrachelle, an haute couture soft furnishings company that specialized in British goods. In 2005, she was honoured to be elected as President of the British-American Business Council (BABC) of Charlotte. Margaret is remembered for connecting people within Charlotte and between our city and the United Kingdom. In 2004, Margaret designed a “British American Plaid”, which is registered with the Tartan Society in Scotland. Proceeds from the sale of this plaid help sponsor the BABC British Summer Studies Program, which fully-funds three Charlotte Mecklenburg School juniors to study and visit the UK each summer. Margaret also designed the “Charlotte Shoe” for the Gainsborough Collection to commemorate our city’s namesake, Queen Charlotte.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 36 years, Geoff, and two children, Daniella and Alex.
A private service was conducted at Harry & Bryant.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region, 1420 East 7th Street, Charlotte, NC 28204.
