

Mrs. Helms, 91, went to be with her Lord Saturday, March 31, 2012.
Born October 20, 1920 in Charlotte, Mrs. Helms was a daughter of the late Kenneth Irvin Christenbury and Sunie Dulcenia Auten Christenbury. She was a graduate of Paw Creek High School and retired after thirty years of service at CMC-Main where she was a Unit Secretary.
Devoted to her Lord and to her family, she was a member of Hunter Acres Baptist Church is remembered as a great cook and as preparing “the best fried chicken ever”.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Rev. William “Bill” Helms, Sr.; sons, Bill Jr. and his wife, Nan, and Roger Dean and his wife, Tinna; and her daughter, Karen England and husband, Larry; as well as six grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Mrs. Helms’ life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 3rd in the chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral Home with the Reverends Don Newell and Buddy Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
