Margaret Peace Monty passed away peacefully on August 22, 2013 at Sharon Towers at the age of 93. She was born Margaret Edna Peace on November 25, 1919, in Andrews, SC, the daughter of Washington Fitzhugh Peace and Mellie June Brockinton Peace. Margaret graduated from Winthrop College (now University) and attended The School of Nursing at Johns Hopkins University. She was a homemaker who especially loved gardening and crafts.
She is predeceased by her husband, William H. Monty, Sr. She is survived by her sister, Nan Peace; her three sons, Benjamin Wyche IV, David C. Wyche and William H. Monty, Jr.; as well as four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her family and her many friends.
A family service will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Sharon Memorial Park.
