She was born in Mecklenburg County and was the daughter of the late Collin Francis Steed and Margaret Westmoreland Steed. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph Alson Sams and son Richard Alson Sams.
She is survived by her son Barry Ralph Sams and brother, Collin Steed.
Margaret was a charter member of Calvary Church (Hwy 51) where she was a faithful member. She worked for 25 years at Western Union and then later as the Executive Secretary for Grady Faulk at Stough Memorial Baptist Church and retired after 24 years of service.
A Celebration of her Life will be held Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 2:00pm at Calvary Church with Reverend Jorge Prado presiding. The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary from 1:00 until 1:45 pm. Interment will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery.
