Maria Ines Pruett

Maria Ines Pruett, age 80, of Charlotte passed away September 13, 2013.

“Inesita” was born on May 26, 1933 in Bogota, Colombia the daughter of Elisa Lopez and Ramon Celis.

Inesita is loved by her husband Roy Pruett along with four children: Aida, Walter, Alexander, and Juan Carlos. She was devoted to her family, especially her four grandchildren, Nicolas, Santi, Maria Juanita, and Gustavo, who knew her as “Tita”. Inesita is loved by numerous others, including her son-in-law Armando, stepdaughters Susan and Barbara, and step-grandchildren Art, David, Allison, Sarah, Matt, and Kristen.

Inesita was an active member of Providence Road Church of Christ. She was an incredible woman of strength and resiliency that loved and raised her children after the passing of her early husband, Hugo. Inesita loved travel and adventure; she expressed these passions through mission work with churches across Colombia and Mexico. Inesita was a woman of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ’s love and the beauty and peace that would await her after her passing.

A celebration of life and love will be held at 3PM, Monday September 16 at Providence Road Church of Christ, 4900 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC 28226. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to the project “Tita’s House”, a nutritional that will be started and named in her honor.
